A graduate of Eastman School of Music, Mrs. Remsen has been a professional harpist since she was sixteen years old. She played the principal harp for many orchestras, including the National Symphony, Minneapolis Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In 1952, Dorothy performed mainly in motion picture orchestras, but she still played for opera, ballet, and chamber music performances until she retired in 1993. She was a member of the American Harp Society for more than forty years, and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Summer of 2004.
